Building Contours from GPS Field Survey Points



How to Build Contours from GPS Field Survey Points?
  1. Download your GPS Field Survey Points to excel
  2. Open Elshayal Smart GIS Map Editor  
  3. Add a new Layer of points
  4. Open Attribute Data Tble
  5. Add an empty records with the same number of your GPS points
  6. Modify Structure to have fields for Lon_X and Lat_Y and Height_Z 
  7. Copy Data from Excel to Smart GIS Table  
  8. In Edit VB Script write the following script and run it
    MoveToMaxX Lon_X
    MoveToMaxY Lat_Y 
  9. In Surface Menu Produce your TIN Surface(s)
  10. In Surface Menu Produce your Contors

How to Make Google Earth as Background?
1 - Open Google Earth
      Do the followning Google settings on the first time only
  • Tools-> Options Turn off Terrain    
  • Be sure that North arrow is combletely very up  
  •    1 - View-> Show Navigation -> Always
  •    2 - Press Double click in North
  • Be sure that the map is very flat by     
  •    1 - Pressing keyboard Shift and keyboard up Arrow     
  •    2 - Pressing Keyboard Ctrl and keyboard down Arrow
  • Be sure Google Earth is not maximized and is not Full Screen
  • Keep Google Earth Opened 
2 - Open Elshayal Smart GIS Map Editor
  • Open Your Geographic Lon-Lat Map project
  • Menu -> Tools -> Synchronize Google Earth with Geographic Lon-Lat Map
  • View -> Refresh Map
3 - Start drawing and digitizing in your Shape files over the Google Earth back ground Map

Downloading mosaic Google Earth maps and rectify them automatically in their correct coordinates to Produce a big area Satellite images with high resolution





How to Download Rectified Google Earth Images?
1 -  Open Google Earth 4.3 or Newer Versions ( It must be installed in your Computer )
2 -  Inside Google Earth, do the following Settings
  • Tools -> Options : Turn Off Terrain
  • Be Sure that North Arrow is completely very up by
  • View -> Show Navigation -> Always
  • Press Double Click on North
  • Be Sure that Google Earth is very Flat by:
    • Pressing keyboard Shift and keyboard Up Arrow.
    • Pressing Keyboard Ctrl and keyboard down arrow
    • View -> Reset ->  Tilt and Compass
3 - Close Google Earth and then reOpen Google Earth
4 -  In Smart GIS Map Editor Menu - > Tools - > Download Form Google Earth
5 -  Press Login Google Earth 4.3 or Newer Versions
6 -  Press Refresh Cords Button in Smart GIS Software to get Google Earth Position
7 -  Enter Your Lon & Lat Cords' and Scale Zoom
8 -  Press Go to
9 -  Press Import Rectified Image (Will Capture B&W Google Earth Map)
10 -  In Google Earth Software Press Save Image to overwrite the B&W Image File
12 -  In Smart GIS Map Editor
13 -  Reload Layer from Layers Menu to get colored rectified Image Menu - > Layers- > Reload Layer
14 -  Use Up, Down, Right, Left Buttons to navigate
15 -  Press "Go to Layer in Google" in Layers Menu (to find layer area in Google)
16 - Press "Go to Feature in Google" in Edit Manu (to find your area in Google)
17 - Check Shift Maps, If your Google version is 5 or later

How to convert shape files to HTML? 
1. Download the free GIS Software Elshayal Smart GIS 17.001

2. Setup it and then run ElshayalSmart.exe

3. for Example kindly download Cairo shape files and open project Cairo.arb

4. Adjust Layer color  : Layer proprieties -> color

5. Adjust Layer Label :  Layer proprieties -> Label

7. In  Convert all visible shape files to html GIS web site application frame
    a. Press Browse to Select your Html5 web site target sub directory
    b. Check Table Data box to assure sending attribute text data table
    c. Press Convert
